Dr. M. Rajgopal Acharya is a Senior Consultant in Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery at Star Hospital, Hyderabad. With over 14 years of surgical experience, he specializes in adult and pediatric liver transplantation, complex hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgery, and advanced minimally invasive procedures. He has been actively involved in more than 1,400 liver transplant surgeries, including living donor and deceased donor transplants. Trained at premier institutions such as Banaras Hindu University and Tata Memorial Hospital, he holds multiple fellowships in liver transplantation, HPB oncosurgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is Da Vinci–certified as a robotic console surgeon and actively performs robotic HPB surgeries and donor hepatectomies. His expertise spans complex GI oncology, pancreatic surgery, and minimally invasive liver resections.
